Muslim Entrepreneur & Software Engineer

I'm a Muslim entrepreneur and software engineer writing about life, tech, and faith. On this blog I share what I'm building, how I'm thinking, and where Islam guides me in the digital age. From AI experiments to blockchain projects to reflections on purpose, it's all part of the same journey.

Start Here

If you are new here, welcome. This space is a living journal of my life as a father, a husband, a Muslim trying to stay sincere, and a builder working in a world that is moving faster than any of us expected. I write to slow myself down. I write to hold onto the lessons Allah places in front of me. And I write because I want my children to grow up with a record of what I was thinking while I was raising them.

Real Moments, Real Reflections

A lot of my reflections come from real moments. Sometimes it is a sudden reminder, like the day the internet broke and I realised how fragile our systems actually are — When the AI Goes Quiet.

Other times it is a question about the soul itself, and how technology is shaping the heart in ways we do not always see — Beyond the Prediction Machine — or the subtle drift that happens when we let machines think for us — AI and the Quiet Danger of Digital Delusion.

Life in Gordon’s Bay

I live in Gordon’s Bay, South Africa, with my wife Zainab and our six kids. Much of what I write comes straight from our home. Teaching my children that their bodies and minds are connected — The Pharmacy Within — or realising that my phone can quietly become a trap — When My Phone Feels Like a Cage in My Pocket.

Raising Children in This Age

Raising children in this age forces you to think deeply. I see it when I teach them machine learning — Teaching My Daughter With an LLM — or when I try to help them build the skills they will need for the world beyond 2030 — Raising Core Skills for 2030. Sometimes the lessons come from outside our home, like watching their excitement the night they met the librarian robots — The Night My Kids Met the Librarian Robots.

Faith at the Centre

Faith sits at the centre of all of this. Many posts are reminders to myself, grounded in the Qur’an and Sunnah. That rizq is not limited — Scarcity Is a Lie. That justice must stand even when it is difficult — Justice Even When It’s Hard. That delays carry hidden gifts — The Hidden Mercy in Delays. That even tawheed can be understood through the way we navigate a digital world — You’re Living in an Encrypted World.

Building and Leading

As someone who builds companies, writes software, and works with teams, my writing often returns to leadership and work. Why revenue brings clarity — Revenue Is Clarity. Why people struggle to get customers — Why You’re Not Getting Customers. Why work culture must be built on trust — How You Treat Your Team. Why staying comfortable is dangerous — Why Staying Comfortable Is Quietly Costing You Growth. And why business was never meant to be about money — You Were Lied To.

The Ummah and Community

Sometimes the reflections are about the Ummah. About responsibility. About building community — Building Madinah — or understanding each other when our minds work differently — Cognitive Range, Conflict, Chaos. Sometimes it is something as gentle as what Eid teaches us about slowing life down — What Eid Taught Me About Slowing Down.

Zakah and Money

I also talk about zakah and money because I see how much confusion and pain people carry around it — Zakaah: The Powerful Lifeline and Why So Many Muslims Struggle With Zakah.

Through all of this, I try to keep myself anchored. That is why I write. It forces me to pause, think, reflect, and be grateful.

Stay Connected

I also share many of these reflections through my podcast — The Goodly Tree Podcast. If you prefer listening, the podcast follows the same tone. Honest, simple, rooted in faith and daily life.

If you want to stay connected, you can join the newsletter. I send simple updates, reflections, and new posts. No noise. No fillers. Just value.

This blog is not about trends. It is not about perfect essays. It is a place to stay sincere. A place to think. A place to remember what matters.

If something here helps you, even in a small way, then Alhamdulillah.

About Me

Most people wake up to an alarm clock. I wake up to roosters and the hum of solar panels. Life out here isn’t always easy, but that’s the point. I have six kids, and we homeschool—actually, we unschool. No rigid curriculums, just learning through curiosity and real challenges.

Islam plays a huge role in my life. It reminds me that success isn’t just about money or status—it’s about what you do with what you’ve been given. I am the co-founder of an ethically focused digital agency where we build cloud software and marketing systems.
